Sushi Koya

Working with Sushi Chef Steve Loo of Martha's Vineyard and Manhattan, our design goal was to create a small venue that would blend traditional Japanese design elements with a contemporary urban edge. The 38 seat restaurant features pink coral screens, and Shou-Sugi-Ban wood panels - a traditional Japanese method of burning the wood planks before they are finished, has a leaf-like green arbor ceiling, and contemporary art.  This small popular venue is located within Mohegan Sun Casino at Uncasville CT, and is managed by the Summer Shack.
