At the edge of Boston's Business District, the renowned Asian American Culinary Chef Joyce Chen, and her son Stephen Chen hired local architect Dean Tucker Shaw to design an elegant restaurant based upon the theme of the classical gardens from Suzhou City in Eastern China. As lead designer for the project Mark Ottmann organized the dining room around a central pavilion based upon a reproduction of a Suzhou Garden centerpiece that had been recreated for a gallery in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, NY. In the take-out area we also borrowed a traditional Chinese dragon to protect the kitchen.
